FAQ
1. What are the terms for realization of air transport?
The basic terms concerning the international air freight transport were given by the Agreement on unification of some rules from 1929 that was amended in 1955. It contributed to the founding of a world system by unifying the rules concerning cargoes and the responsibility of forwarders to both passengers and dispatchers. It introduced the system of the so-called interline co-operation of air freight forwarders which means that a flight ticket or an airway bill of an air carrier is accepted for transport by other air carriers regardless of the fact whether the carrier who has issued the carriage document participates in the transport in some part.
2. What is the basic document on contracted air freight transport?
The document on a concluded freight contract between the dispatcher and the carrier is the Airway Bill (AWB) – see attachment Nr.6. The airway bill is a not negotiable document that does not represent the value of goods which is noted on top of the document as "Not Negotiable Airway Bill". The airway bill must be signed by the dispatcher or his agent and by the carrier or his agent who has issued the airway bill.
3. Who has the right to deal with goods during transport by air?
This right belongs to the dispatcher. He must notify the carrier of his instruction in a written form with submitting the airway bill and if he has fulfilled the terms of the freight contract, the dispatcher has the following rights:
- To require the goods to be handed over to him in the airport of departure or destination
- To require holding up the goods during its transport at any place of landing
- To give the carrier the instruction that he has to hand over the goods to some other consignee than originally stated in the airway bill at the place of destination or intermediate landing
- To require returning the consignment in the airport of departure, this dispatcher´s right of disposition extinguishes as soon as the consignee requires the release of the goods or of the airway bill or if he takes the consignment over at the place of destination.
4. What are the most important terms to be respected in the air freight transport?

- The goods is considered extra heavy if it exceeds the permissible load for 1m2 in the cargo space of the plane
- Perishable goods must be booked in advance and directed so that it arrives to the place of destination within a term that enables the consignee to take the consignment fast
